Ethnographic research
Fieldwork in Roma communities across Moldova: customs, crafts, holidays, dialects of Romani.
- field trips and interviews
- documenting traditional crafts
- studies on Roma groups
Since 2016 we have documented the culture, language and memory of Roma communities in the Republic of Moldova and made them known to the wider public — through research, education and cultural events.
Our aim is for the cultural heritage of the Roma of Moldova to be known, documented and handed down to future generations.
The Association brings together researchers, members of Roma communities and people passionate about ethnography. We work with the communities, not just about them: Roma voices and experiences are the starting point of every project.
Six areas in which the Association runs projects, on its own or with partners.
Fieldwork in Roma communities across Moldova: customs, crafts, holidays, dialects of Romani.
We record the memories of elders and collect family photographs and documents before they are lost.
Materials and activities that bring Roma history and culture into schools and public life.
Exhibitions, concerts, music and dance evenings, film screenings and intercultural meetings.
Research results become books, brochures, articles and online resources, in Romanian and Romani.
We work with museums, universities, schools, public authorities and organisations in Moldova and abroad.
To be checked
